That Redhawk is a fine pistol, perhaps the best DA .44. I want one but it hasn’t bubbled up the list still. The 5 1/2” is about right. My 8” Wesson .44 shoots! (ask 3 deer and a boar bear) but it’s big and heavy.

Yep, the Dan Wesson was a wonderful gun. A good buddy, who taught me a lot of what I know about shootin’ back in the 1980s had one. Always enjoyed it, the big DW really tames to recoil of even full load .44 Mags. A bit bulky for mountain use though.

I’m a huge fan of John Taffin. I’ve got a Ruger Super Blackhawk four and five eigths inch barreled six shooter that has the most miles on it in such a role. No complaints.

I really like the look of the similar .41 Mag. It’s built on the smaller Colt SAA size “original blackhawk” frame. That’s on my list too. (Plus, I’d like to help keep the .41 Mag alive).

ahh, so little time, so many guns.

One of my brothers has a stainless Super RedHawk and it is SWEET. It's chambered for the .454 Casul but he has the cylinder for the .45 LC. The Casul is a "handful". :-) ...TOO big to be a carry gun (IMHO) but it's a lot of fun! :-)
