My mom and sister live very near there, but it missed their town..than God. My sis just called me and said she and her boyfriend were right outside Yazoo when it happened. I had no idea she was so close. My mom had called me because of my friend that lives in Yazoo, but didn’t realize sis was so close when it hit. She said she could hear it.

I suppose it's a good thing you and your mom didn't know she was that close. The two of would have been going crazy. What a mess in that town. How did so many escape serious injury? Are there a lot of storm shelters built on properties?

Most people I know in that part of the country don’t have shelters. My best friend had one because of her special needs son. She works for the state and knows how to get things like that. The state or feds helped pay for it a few years ago. Normally, I would not cotton to things like that(freebies from the state, etc.) but can understand it for her circumstance. It’s very hard to move him very fast. That’s why I was in a panic when the news first broke. I knew that if she didn’t get any warning or have time to get him in that shelter, that she and he were likely badly hurt or worse. It just an earthen type shelter with a small area under ground and earth built up on three sides.
