I was wondering the same thing...secondary ammunition explosion, maybe?
Or got damaged in the lift. Look at the size of those lifting chains. Drag one of those across the sheet metal or fiberglass housing of that turret and you are going to do some serious damage.

"Or got damaged in the lift. " I'm just speculating, but it reminded me - on a much smaller scale - of the turret explosion on the U.S.S. Iowa.
