Rand Paul and Israel
The American Spectator ^ | 4-23-10 | Philip Klein

I've obtained a document that the Rand Paul campaign is circulating to those interested in his views on Israel...
[snip]

"Israel and the United States have a special relationship," Rand's position paper begins. "With our shared history and common values, the American and Israeli people have formed a bond that unites us across the many thousands of miles between our countries and calls us to work together towards peace and prosperity for our countries."

[snip]

In one clear departure from his father, Rand states that: As a United States Senator, I would never vote to condemn Israel for defending herself.

That is a very devious thing that you do there, you can't say something concrete or real so you try and imply it.

Governor Palin has formally endorsed Rand Paul for the Kentucky Senate seat, and currently she is allowing his campaign to run television ads of here endorsing her favored candidate.

You Trey Grayson people have your own Palin video too don't you?

Left unsaid is that, unless Rand wants to risk getting disowned by his dad, he also would vote against any U.S. aid to Israel itself. The Pauls are against all forms of foreign aid, so *of course* Rand would oppose aid to enemies of Israel. It’s like someone in favor of across-the-board tax cuts bragging that he’s supportive of the pro-life community because he would cut taxes on placement services for unwanted babies, while failing to note that his plan would also cut taxes on abortion clinics.

Rand Paul is currently the favorite to win the GOP Senate nomination in KY, so I hope that he truly different from his father on Israel and the War Against Islamofascism. But I’m not holding my breath.
