Believe it, or not, 10 is probably the worst possible age for them to try to take that child from her. 10 is a wonderful age for girls (and some boys) when it comes to the nurturing gene kicking in. It's a wonderful age to introduce a younger sibling, if a couple is looking to add a another child. 10 year-olds are at a terrific age for bonding with babies.

While she is going to have to be monitored very closely and this is clearly a dangerous circumstance for her, the counseling she would need to get over taking the baby from her would probably cripple her emotionally. Let's all say a prayer that this child is safe. The father of the baby needs to be locked up, and the mother needs a kick in the ass. I'll never believe a good mother wouldn't know what kind of jackass she brought home.

True, but I’ll say that at least she did the right thing in turning him in when she found out about the rape, and having him arrested! She’s probably blaming herself to some extent as well. Also I would point out that she’s backing her little girl in her pregnancy!
