I think Cochise County is one of the most beautiful places in the world (we live @90 miles away in Tucson). One of our favorite things to do was hiking along the river, seeing the petroglyphs, bird watching, climbing to the top of Carr or Miller Canyon where snow falls. We went twice a month. Now we stay away after running into a group of people while we were out in the “boonies.” We hid along the bank of a wash and heard spanish speakers passing. We want our State back!
Yup, I agree. I stopped hiking in the Santa Ritas in the late 90s after I saw those long trails of 50 men with water bottles, crossing. Not safe for one or two women.
When I moved to AZ for graduate school (early 90s), the southern area was sooo incredibly beautiful and unspoiled. We drank water straight out of Sycamore Canyon. The illegal criminals are directly to blame for the destruction and for us being locked out of our lands. And on this topic, even those who might normally be liberal tend to agree.
Another step in that direction is dumping MCCain and encouraging the AZ state Senate to pass the eligibility bill.
AZ is leading the way to save the Republic.
Sheriff Joe and JD!
I miss living in Sierra Vista.
