I used to go sporting clays shooting with a Mossburg 500 12ga riot gun.

I never did very well but it was fun anyway.

#1 son, who recently retired from the Army, shoots clays with his Mossberg 500 with only pistol grips fore and aft. He's not strongly competitive, but the other guys enjoy watching how well he does -- shooting from the hip...

I definitely would not want to be facing him in a combat situation!
