Yes. Or, if not they themselves, then a family member or close friend.

Even in cases where there is no personal experience or connection to an abortion, however, the vast majority of women in this country have absorbed and internalized the concept of "a woman's right to choice" to the point where it's almost a fetishistic sacrament.

It's a fundamental psychological component, a sort of high-voltage cognitive "third-rail" characteristic of what Jim Noble was referring to as being an "independent woman". It's also not limited to liberal women, either, and it's amazing to watch level-headed, conservative, even devout church-going women just snap and go ballistic whenever they find themselves painted into a corner on this in discussions and arguments.

Thanks, I've noticed that with my lefty siblings, but didn't realize it would be so prevelant on the east coast. That and that they would actually verbalize it, as in, "I don't like her cause of her kid."......?
