Then you haven't met my highly-decorated WWII father, Sir, who left a small Southern town to go to Notre Dame, fought for YOU in Germany, risking his life by using himself as a decoy for his men when discovererd on a reconnaissance mission by the Germans, earning a silver medal to add to his purple heart and several other honors, and returned to Notre Dame to finish his degree, of which he is naturally very, very proud. They don't have basket weaving. They hold chapel and mass in every dormitory, every day. They don't redshirt their football players and their fans don't paint profanities on their cars about other teams like the fans of many schools I can think of. And so, Sir, I suggest you wash your mouth out with soap. Yes, my father is "elite". That is a compliment, not anything to be ashamed of. He, like so many Notre Dame men (and women) is the cream of the crop. By and large, Notre Dame people are some of the finest people I know. Did I go there? No. Sadly, I couldn't get in. But, while I am of a mind to tell you just where to go, I am too much of a Christian to say it. Why? Because I was reared by a Notre Dame man. Good day, Sir.

I admire your devotion to your patriot father.
As such an obviously devoted ND supporter, what are you doing to bring pressure to bear on this abominable administration that is currently in control of the institution?

Your defense of Notre Dame strikes me as a bit ‘second-hand’ and somewhat dated. Let me put it into bible-story terms.
There once was a man who was humble and hid rather than be king [he was tall and commanding]; this man later became a war-hero that the people said “killed his thousands” & he was involved in many victories over the enemies of the Israelite people.
Pretty praiseworthy, no?
Well, later on this same man becomes prideful and tries to fill the role of Priest in addition to that of King... and so stepped out of his [literally] God-given authority and into the state of rebellion. For this reason God determined that his line would lose the kingship. The king then turns away from God and enters a tormented downward-spiral until he goes visiting a witch... that man was King Saul.
His beginning-state did not match his ending-state.
My point is that time & decisions change both people and organizations.

But, while I am of a mind to tell you just where to go, I am too much of a Christian to say it. You are a snotty little shit and didn't accomplish anything to deserve to be one. Give the Christian jive a rest too as it quite unapparent by your attitude. While you are at it you might shove the soap too.
This article and picture are proof ND has gone to dark side. Is your Dad really proud of this toilet?

First of all I am a ma’m and you did not read my entire email when I said that I am sure there are some fine ND grads. I was refering to my experince with ND people and their attitude toward other people. I am not a fan of arrogant people.
They may not have “basket weaving” but they did have a course called “Fun With Numbers” that a graduate of ND I knew took along with a number of the football players.
The fans may not paint profanities on their cars but ask any IU or Purdue fan about the nastiness of their fans during the games.
I know your father is a wonderful man and served this country well and he raised a fine son but are you really pleased with direction this once noble instituion is taking?
BTW, please do not make any assumptions of graditude and love for the military.....I have 2 USMC sons and they are inspired by men like your father.....

Good day, Sir.Your reply contains the very contradictions others are bemoaning -- Notre Dame has changed 180 degrees since your father's meritorious time. It is one thing to be considered elite by others because of your dedication, training and heroism. It is quite another to consider oneself elite because your parents paid for you to attend school where giants once walked.
