The PUMAs spoke of these indictments way back in October of 2008 relaying it as “rumors around Fitzpatrick’s office and ‘through the halls’ of Chicago’s Federal Courthouse”. They also implied that it would indict Pelosi, Reid, in fact a good number of high-profile folks in the DNC... I don’t think the PUMAs thought it would take this long to come to light though.

Not necessarily — I wouldn’t be too sure that the Daley Machine is still on Obama’s side. Remember Rahm just said he wanted Daley’s job in the national media... Things are NOT always as they appear, and as you pointed out this is Chicago — ultimately it’s who hasn’t ticked off the mob bosses to badly... I’m guessing it’s NOT Obama.

As this story in a SF paper states — one of the things that was redacted was information from Blago’s lawyers indicating that Rezko had talked to Obama about a deal for a casino owned by: The Chicago Mob

Stern resignation explained?

According to his official calendar, Rod Blagojevich met with SEIU President Andy Stern and SEIU Illinois President Tom Balanoff on November 3, 2008, the day before Barack Obama was elected President and about the same time, according to federal investigators, that Blagojevich was scheming to sell Obama’s Senate seat.
