“If they do this, it will destroy the comity in the Senate for the next two generation - perhaps permanently”

Is there any comity in the Senate today on the Democrat side?

Let’s suppose they go ahead and end the filibuster. They then vote in financial reform, immigration reform, cap’n trade, and union card check. They also vote to give the President the authority to declare a national emergency and suspend elections. Obama takes advantage of this “emergency” power and cancels the November election. Do you really believe the American people will rise up?

Very little. But, what is left has allowed for more deliberate debate, which is a good thing. Unlike the reactionary House, it's nice to have a Senate that has traditionally taken its sweet-ass time. I'm afraid that in the absence of the filibuster, the Senate - just like it's little brother, the House - will become a meat factory of bad legislative initiatives, all waiting to be eagerly signed into law by Barry.

This is bad news.

Last night they all had a few good laughs at the annual Press Club dinner even while the dims are daily kicking the Republicans. Republicans need to say no business as usual and shut down the Senate.
