They were running the 12 casing over the reservoir and displaced to test the packer. It came back on them. It was a blow out. The BOP is open and they will come back in with ROV’s and try to shut the BOP today. Then it wont be able to flow.
Is the BOP on the rig or underwater?
What does ‘displacedto test the packer’mean? I know a BOP is a blow-out preventer but other than that I am clueless.

Was it overcome by extraordinary gas pressure? Or a defect in the BOP?
