But wait: If insurance companies are forced by the federal government to cover people with expensive pre-existing conditions, and the federal government won't allow them to raise premiums to keep up with new federal government-imposed costs, couldn't they go out of business? Gee, if I didn't know better, I'd suspect that was precisely the point of this wonderful program.

Only a fool would believe that you could force the insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions, remove the lifetime cap on benefits, and allow "children" up to the age of 26 to be covered under their parents' insurance without raising premiums. Preventing these increases based on actuarial data will kill the private insurance companies, which was the objective all along.

You are exactly right. The Obamatons wanted to kill the insurance companies all along. That’s why the the ultra-liberals grudgingly accepted a bill without single payer, knowing that single payer would come soon enough.

The American people — although polls show discontent — ultimately are too scared to give up Obama’s free health care. Just like in Britain — socialized medicine is a filthy, disease-ridden boondoggle. Yet voters refuse to get rid of the system for fear of the unknown.
