No, you keep yammering the entire time saying “If you do that, I’m really going to get mad.” “Seriously, I am REALLY going to get mad.” “I’m warning you: I’m starting to get really angry now.”

In the meantime, your long-time friend (whom you’ve estranged recently by being rude and petulant the last time you met) sneaks up behind this person and just as he is dropping in the last piece needed to make the gun operational, your friend shoots the gun out of his hand.

Your reaction is to rush over to bandage the wounded enemy’s bleeding hand. You then turn to your friend and shriek “I can’t believe you did that. If you’d given me just another minute, we could have ended this peaceably.”
Obama in a nutshell (and I mean “nut”shell).

Well put, though I wouldn’t put it past Obama to side against the “friend” in that scenario.
