While mainstream media reporters are generally pretty supportive of the Obama administration, they bristle, and rightly so, at incidents where the administration is less than transparent or actively seeks to impede journalists from working.
Last week it was liberal Post columnist Dana Milbank snarking about how the nuclear summit was closed off to press scrutiny. Today it's Politico's Ben Smith, who shared with readers in a snarkily-headlined post "Most transparent White House ever," how (emphasis mine):
Police chased reporters away from the White House and closed Lafayette Park today in response to a gay rights protest in which several service members in full uniform handcuffed themselves to the White House gate to protest "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

When members of the media feel that they’ve been pushed aside or are not getting the respect and love they so richly deserve, the honeymoon is over.
The MSM acts supportive until that exact moment in time that the administration, even a liberal administration, makes them feel anything less than special or makes them work harder than they absolutely have to.
The Obama Administration has certainly proven to be full of itself, but I would have imagined that even they knew better than this.

Wow, that one sentence sums up the entire problem with most “journalists” these days. They’ll spin, obsfucate, and lie to back The Won, but then get mad when his actions affect them directly.

The problem for us is that like most abused subservients with no self esteem or moral foundation, they’ll crawl back to their abuser for more of the same if he just says (lies to them) that he loves them...

Agree. It’s strange - as if they really don’t know that Obama would never stand a chance of winning the election if it hadn’t been for the unethical MSN. This means that Rahm and Obama really believe that Obama could run against the MSN, and win, the way Bush did.

Rather ironic that the press who have given this president some of the most favorable coverage of all time should be locked out of events. They’re losing their readers in exchange for losing access. Shows how dumb liberals can be.

I saw a couple of pictures of two protester “service members” who handcuffed themselves to the White House fence. A Captain and a Lieutenant.
Makes me start to ask wtf is going on with the Army officer corps? First we get a Major murdering soldiers, and now this.
