"Trutherville". Never been there.

I live in a part of the country where temperatures reach -30 every winter, not counting wind chill. How to shut down the power? Ask New York. Ask Bosnia. It isn't as difficult to shut down a region as you seem to think, if it can be done by accident, it can be done on purpose.

WHO is going to be able to DO that?

Haven't been keeping up with Executive Orders, have you?

80,000 homeland security troops?

"A civillian security force, as well armed and funded as the US Army...." (That crazy, trutherville kook in the White House said that, not me).

What do you think a couple hundred pound desk can do to a hummer from 20 or 30 stories up?

Dunno. I think there is one 20+ story building in my state, and like many other states, there are vast numbers of communities similarly unendowed. It'll take some doing to get all those Hummers to wait in line, not to mention haul all the desks up there...

You are in an urban environment, judging from your comments, and likely in a more temperate one as well. People can (and do) freeze to death here.

A tremendous amount of America only has a few days supplies on hand, stores and warehouses in major urban areas a month at most, and the interruption of truck traffic along major traffic corridors, which can be done with as few as a dozen roadblocks can cut off a whole state. How much news have you heard out of say, South Dakota this week? How do you know it is not a complete fabrication? (Rhetorical questions only, I'm trying to make a point.)

Now do I think this will happen? No, not really. But I'm not one to ignore the possibility, especially with this government. Who would have thought they would do what they have done in the last year, including mounting a deficit in excess of any and all deficits in the history of the country?

Not to mention taking over auto manufacturers, banks, and the health care industry. Outrageous plans have a better chance of succeeding, apparently, because people are called 'kooks' and other cutesey names for even suggesting the thought. But 'outrageous' seems to be a hallmark of this adminsitration.

Just for fun: And how are you going to hold street corners in a city of HIGHRISES where tons of shit can rain down on you unless you take EVERY BUILDING AND HOLD IT.

Think tactically, now, the objective isn't to take and hold the city, but subdue it. So, the short answer is: You don't. You don't hold anything but the people in and the supplies out.

It is an old tactic, known as a 'siege'.

A few million people will eat themselves out of house and home in less than a fortnight. In a month, the pets will be gone, and some of the humans, too.

Nope...they might be able to simply kill everyone...but they wont be able to take and hold squat.

They won't have to.

“there is a rifle behind every blade of grass”

Yep. Where there is grass, that is. Greetings from the shortgrass prairie!
