Un? Does he drink 7 UP? Yep, the un-cola. And he's un-encumbered with any Christian norms or ethics. Kinda like the Obama administration.

Well, we sure wouldn’t want to bog him down with morals or ethics.

Under interrogation, they confessed to being spies. I suspect something more severe than waterboarding was employed.

S. Korean authorities followed up with this story and found out that he is actually Kim Kwang-nam, a factory manager of Kim Chaek Steel Mill. (김책제철연합소 기사장인 김광남)

NIS got suspicious and brought in a N. Korean defector who is from the same town one of the spies claimed he is from. Under cross-examination, many details did not match, and they are said to have confessed eventually.
According to news reports, they attempted to 'harm themselves,' which is probably the reference to suicide attempts. It is said that they are under 24 hour watch now.

My guess is one of three:
a) hidden ampules of cyanide bitten off (such as hidden in the cotton or charcoal filter of a cigarette;
b) tried to bite tongues off.
c) tried to break away somehow and throw themselves off a steep ledge.
The hand grenade thing would not work if they were in custody.
All according to special North Korean force textbooks. Has all the markings of a Kim Jong il planned attack and I would not doubt if "sonny boy" (with Fish Lips as royal chamberlain and mentor for the kid) was also given a planning role, so if successful, they could internally use it to promote his take over of the ship of state as a last resort, solidifying his hand with the Party, State and Army.

This thing is not over. There is more to come. The next is probably a nuclear test. It is likely that they would pull it off this time around, leaving no doubt to outsiders.
That would be also credited to Chia junior.

In the 80s I was stationed on a Korean Air Force Base. While out for an evening walk, I heard the most horrific screams coming from one of the guard towers. I concluded a ROK soldier had been caught sleeping on duty, and was suffering the consequences. 23 years later, the painful sound is still clear in my memory. Imagine a hot cigarette to the tender forearm, or maybe pliers tightly gripping a mans intimate parts.
Under interrogation, they confessed to being spies. I suspect something more severe than waterboarding was employed.
