2012? WTF Thats letting the issue off lightly.

Just for the jokers, any idea how much more damage can be done before then?
I shudder just thinking!

In all honesty, this is the only way to get it done. More states need to pass laws like this - it’s just common sense.

Even if it were somehow miraculously proven now that Obama was not a legitimate president, who do you think would be able to remove him? Democrats would stomp any such move in the House and Senate, the military answers to him, and the DOJ would certainly be slow to act on any evidence. Besides, eligible or not, he WAS elected to the office - there would be a strong argument to be made about overturning the results of a lawful election.

You and I both know arguments can be made as to whether it was a lawful election, or if Obama exploited a loophole, but states passing SOLID laws requiring proof of Natural Born status can prevent this from happening in the future - and possibly prevent a second Obama term.

The question really is if Obama has so far resisted proving his status because no proof exists, or if he has a strategy to make his opponents look like racist morons when that proof suddenly, miraculously appears.

The Birther issue as it stands now is a losing hand only because Obama holds all the cards (although one with some evidence supporting it - statements from Hawaiian officials notwithstanding). Just rest assured the position will be vindicated if Obama is unable to provide that proof in 2012. Even if Arizona is the only state to enact this, him not being on the ballot will raise some eyebrows around the nation. Assuming, of course, that it even gets reported outside of the state.

And if he DOES provide proof, we can then ask him why he wasted hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars trying to avoid showing his birth certificate, and if he plans to repay that out of his own pocket.
