I’m thinking similar thoughts. Zer0 may be delivering an eulogy to the miners, but on his agenda is being able to say the eulogy to the US coal mining industry. This disaster is giving him the justification to regulate the mines until they just can’t operate. Just watch.

Two basic observations. Odd that both Joe Biden and the President were in the same building at the same time. They apparently have zero fear of an attack by Bin Laden on them.

Second...once the safety report comes back and the violations are obvious...with dozens of other companies committing the same violations...the President will come to the conclusion that only the federal government can run the mine safety program....which naturally would require a coal tax. It’s a virtual guaranteed thing that we face a coal tax by December, and a government safety program comes out of nowhere.

Oh, and ask yourself...over fifty years...how many Presidents have ever shown up at a miner’s funeral memorial service?
