I suspect Reno knew a whole lot of dirty stuff, perhaps even before the first World Trade Center bombing in Feb 1993, where the FBI informant (Salem) repeatedly ferried bomb-building instructions from his FBI handlers to the targets of the sting operation, so incompetent were the Islamic terrorists. Salem testified to this before congressional hearings.

The buildings didn't come down that time, but a handful of people did get killed.

Two days later, the BATF launched their cluster-fiasco outside of Waco, (completely shifting the media attention away from the FBI screw-up in NYC), and the FBI thereafter came in to finish off the BATF mess at Waco.

And, there was a strong similarity between John Doe Two and Jose Padilla, the “dirty bomber.” The handling of the Padilla case seemed, to me, unique in American history. Since the Civil War, at least.
