England Branded Least Patriotic Nation in Europe As Citizens Are Too Scared To Fly The Flag By STEVE DOUGHTY 20th April 2010

The English rate themselves the least patriotic nation in Europe, a poll suggests. Almost half said their country had lost its identity in the face of European interference and political correctness. The findings were published in advance of St George’s Day which, as two thirds of those polled did not know, is on April 23 – this Friday.

'Scared': English people said they fear being branded racist if they fly the St George flag. They showed that on average, English people rate their patriotism at slightly below six on a scale out of ten, behind the Scots, Welsh and Irish and far in the wake of the Dutch, the most patriotic people on the continent. Only one in ten would happily fly the cross of St George to celebrate the national saint’s day.

Double that number said they thought they would be told by authorities to remove it if they flew it from their house. Patriotic: The English should have pride in St George's Day celebrations as the Irish do with St Patrick's Day, according to Mr Garnett Despite calls from public figures ranging from Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu to Gordon Brown for more celebrations of the English national day, there has been clear disapproval from many public authorities.

In 2008 St George's Day parades were banned by local authorities in Bradford and Sandwell in the West Midlands on the grounds they could cause trouble or were 'unhealthy' and 'tribal'.

This is VERY true. Through the years.....flying the Union Jack has been associated with ‘fascism’ by the Euro-commies. It’s really sad to see. The only time you see it is flying on government buildings....some hotels....and when the Queen is visiting some place.

Coming to a country near you. The commies are trying to do it here, folks. Just be warned.

Okay, but the article is talking about the English being afraid to fly the flag of England (i.e., St. George's flag), not the Union Jack.

Funny, but we were in the UK for a week last month and I can’t remember seeing a single flag..other than Govt ones.
It used to be that they were almost used for decoration.

St. George’s cross causes the most concern but the Islamo Left in the UK also hates the Union Jack.

When I watch this advert, I can't help but to work up a tear, thinking, what has happened to England, and what's been lost.

If you haven't seen this before, it's probably the single greatest TV ad I've ever seen.

It’s been said that most of the British expats in the US have gone to Santa Monica and they are mostly gays who don’t care a rats tail about flying the Union Jack.

It seems to me that UK or at least England is a testosterone free zone. Maybe it's because they lost so much of their manhood in WWI and WWII. It just seems to me when you get past Sean Connery, there aren't any icons of manhood left on that island. Yes I'm sure in the absolute sense there are are a few real men left. But not enough.

Real men would not have tolerated what has happened to their island over the past 40 years. Real men would not have tolerated a class of people pledged to destroy their country. Real men would have not tolerated the destruction and mayhem brought to their shores by an uncivilized class of barbarians. Real men would have stopped it.

It's kind of ironic that the toughest character England has had for the past 40 years, is/was a woman.

When you go from Sean Connery to Jude Law as an icon, something is wrong with your civilization.
