Doesn't fit the pattern of a robbery, and it doesn't sound like a dispute that built into a fight. Unless the attackers are somehow caught, we'll never know for sure if it was political. Seems unlikely that it was anything else, though. I like the guys description of one of the attackers as “dirty but not homeless”. Sounds like a progressive to me.

Agreed. 99.9% probability it was political. The only other possibility is mistaken identity — e.g., a couple resembling the victims had earlier insulted one of the perps, and he got together some buddies to come after them. But that's very far-fetched.

Being on the Mississippi coast, I know all about Nawlins and their Katrina debacle... all dims fault and those lovely “citizens” that live there.

Native New Orleans here, moved to MS Gulf Coast.

Viewed the photos on the blogs. Here I go.

N.O.P.D. blew this from the start. No threatening crowd
should be allowed to gather and remain in front of Brennan’s
on a Friday night. There was a single cop in the photos trying to guard the door from a mob. You mean to tell me
no cops drove or walked past Brennan’s all the time this was going on and no one called the NOPD for assistance.
They should have dispersed the crowd and written them all
loitering tickets. The NOPD is like a box of chocolates,
you don’t know who is crooked or what.

A line has been crossed, violence has been tolerated, even if it’s “anarchists” attacking Repubs, it’s wrong.

Seen these “anarchists” in other protests throughout the years in N.O., like the “Jim Bob Moffett protest”. These are’nt SEIU or union workers.
At best they looked like Tulane students, unmuscled, strong only in their numbers. Disaffected trust fund boys and girls led by their leaders. Attended Tulane and worked in
a waterfront union, these are student punk types.
Are they connected with ACORN???
The line has been crossed, will anybody hold them accountable?

City surveillance videos must have captured the beating. If these tapes were released and broadcast/covered on MSM like the DC Capitol steps crap then what? People would come unglued. All other Government actions would cease until this issue was addressed. Good luck with that.
