There would be no GOP landslide if the economy is perceived good by the majority of voters and I am saying perceived good because there is no way under the sun the economy will be in reality in good shape as long the socialists are in power. Higher taxation and more welfare spending on the parasites would never make a good economy. But as I said before there will be a point in the next five years if the socialists still control all branches of the government where the economy will be so destroyed that no amount of propaganda and lies is going to convince the voters that everything is fine.
PS: Wait until the Bush tax cuts expire in December 31 2010 and then you will see the real suffering.
The economy was percieved as ok or good in 1994. Didn’t help the Dems then, because there were other big issues.
“his son got a job instantly in a very high paying position.”

Trite old sayings become old sayings because they are true and now as perhaps never before in America, “It ain’t what you know, it’s WHO you know”. We actually have people in this area being let go from part time, minimum wage jobs, not for fault but so that the management can give the job to family or friends. I know for a certainty that this is happening where I live. If they do that for a nothing job who knows what goes on where a real position worth having is at stake. I think I hear strings being yanked all the way out here in the country.
“The stock market is only up because companies have shed employees in order to maintain profitability. “
I agree. I see it first hand.
