The 1987 movie “Robocop” was supposed to be about Detroit (though it was mostly filmed in Dallas). I think Gran Torino was also supposed to be about Detroit.
Gran Torino’s site was Highland Park.
For all practical purposes,it is Detroit.
I recognized some of the locations in the movie, but in some instances, they made it look better than what it is.
