Todd Young has been endorsed by the Independence Caucus for the 9th Indiana district. The following is their endorsement.

Todd Young: State 9th Congressional District - Indiana Todd enlisted in the Navy directly from high school, and earned the opportunity to go the Naval Academy. Todd was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps, and honorably discharged as a captain in 2000.

Seeking to unseat 5 term incumbent Baron Hill (D)

Republican Primary Election: May 4th, 2010 Todd is a former Marine and Deputy Prosecutor for Orange County.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Todd also holds graduate degrees in economics from the University of Chicago; law from Indiana University; and economic history from the University of London.

A fifth generation Hoosier, Todd enlisted in the Navy out of high school and later received a commission in the United States Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Captain.

Todd has work at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative public policy think-tank, and has served as energy policy adviser in the U.S. Senate. In recent years, Todd was alarmed by Washington’s borrow-and-spend ways, so he founded a fiscal responsibility advocacy group, the National Organization for People vs. Irresponsible Government Spending (NO PIGS).

Todd is an active volunteer in his community and a devoted husband to his wife Jenny. The Youngs are members of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington. Todd also serves on the Board of Directors for a local pro-life ministry.

Jenny gave birth to twins in March of 2010. The Young now have three daughters, Abigail, Ava, and Annalise, and a son, Tucker.

Mike Sodrel is pretty much considered a shoo-in for IN 9.
