I know all there needs to known about the POW/MIA office in Hanoi. Was the office manager and senior NCO of Det2. Met McCain a few times. Was in charge of the detail that raised the US flag was raised in Hanoi.
Was there when former US Congressman Billy Hendon chained himself to our front gate. We cut his handcuffs with bolt cutters.
Were there POW’s held captive...after the war probably...there were reports called in..of a sighting by a witness who was deemed credible by the reporting officer. But they were scrubbed. Why was the sighting scrubbed..the response I received..”All hell would break loose if we report this”..Clinton was opening relations with Hanoi.

He sure kept us busy for a few days..lol. He never produced any evidence of POW’s being held. Just a lot of talk. We asked him to leave after the meeting and to return if he had any evidence. That is when he handcuffed himself to the front gate..(one arm).
