Fiorina or DeVore? Who will be Boxer’s opponent in November?

It is going to be Fiorina. I wish I could find out more about her but she and Whitman both are running very closed mass media campaigns. It is difficult to know what they are saying is true and what is not. Good thing that we have a vigorous and independent press, not. Californians are very ignorant of issues and quite frankly really don’t give a damn. Union teachers threaten strikes for higher pay and benefits, and then you see parents picketing in the unions favor and even holding their kids out of school as solidarity to the union mobsters.

As far as the chances for kicking Boxer to the side, if the national trend seems to be going conservative and enough Republicans and Independents get wind of it about one week before the election it is possible for Boxer to lose. One thing about Fiorina, if she has no sex scandals in her closet this may block one of Boxer’s main campaign techniques.

Of course the more illegals we have in CA..the more teachers, police etc. we need. So they are strong fighters for amnesity and open borders.
They have run out of money however, and CA can’t get out of the hole because private employment is declining and private employment is losing wages.

I’m not sure. Every time I read these public pension stories, they say the state constitution prohibits retracting public employee benefits, once granted.

If that were amended to say those benefits COULD be retracted, then I’m not sure a union contract would stand in the way. When the contract expires, cuts could be imposed. Sure, there would be tons of legal battles. But I’m not sure it’s impossible.

At least amending it would make future give-aways retractable. And I’d really like the part about giving the public a say on any pay/benefit increases. But then, I’m one who thinks taxpayers should be able to take back some of those overly-generous pensions from people who’ve already retired. It makes me sick to think of some bureaucrat pulling down more than $100k from age 55 til he or his spouse dies.

I think it will be Fiorina, from the polls, although I plan to vote for DeVore in the primary. She talked a good game at the Pleasanton TEA Party on Thursday, but frankly, I see her more as John McCain than J.D. Hayworth.

Worthwhile for that purpose, if nothing else.

There was a proposition that would have required unions to get member’s permission annually to give their money to candidates or spend it on political causes.

The proposition was defeated early in Arnold’s 1st term.

The proposition will be on the ballot again. We MUST pass this proposition. I am a California union member, reluctant, and I really want this passed so my union dues no longer go to guaranteeing Democrat re-elections.

We REALLY need to pass this proposition and make it so that union member money can’t flow to the Democrats without express written permission annually. I know there are a lot of union members who would not give this permission. I suspect at least a third would refuse to give permission — maybe more.

The political pulse is always difficult to pin down here. It has been a Rat stronghold for so long now they are entrenched and very difficult to defeat. With respect to Boxer, there will never be a better time to dump her socialist ass than right now. If we fail this time, then she has the office in perpetuity.
