The White House is confirming that President Barack Obama received a letter from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last month.
"Yes, President Ahmadinejad sent a letter to the President in March," National Security Council spokesman Michael Hammer told POLITICO Saturday. "We are not going to get into details on the content of the correspondence at this time."
Ahmadinejad discussed sending a letter to Obama in an interview with Iranian state television on Tuesday.
“I have written a letter to Obama which will be published soon,” Ahmadinejad said in the television interview, as reported by the IRNA news agency.
"I sent him a message and told him that we welcome change, but we didn’t see any genuine change,” Ahmadinejad said.
The "nuclear issue is actually an excuse," Ahmadinejad continued. The "U.S. has two options. Either to continue this wrong policy, or to cooperate with Iran. Cooperation is of course better for both of us.”
Ahmadinejad's disclosure this week of the letter he sent to Obama last month would seem to be part of a wider effort to persuade some countries still on the fence about voting for a new United Nations Security Council resolution on Iran that he's still trying to diplomatically engage, and to push back on the perception domestically that Iran is becoming increasingly internationally isolated.

I’m guessing the letter asks the US to surrender and do everything it can to help Iran eliminate Israel. And....I’m sure Obama is okay with that.
It’s a stick in the eye to Obummer, and if Russia and China are represented, this is a worldwide disaster for Obummer. It won’t get any play in the US media, but the Euros will take notice, as will the Arabs.

I’m afraid both Europe and the ME nations know Pres. Obama is a wimp and completely unable to affect any change in Iran’s plans. This will certainly confirm it. Oddly enough, Obama’s disastrous policy toward Iran and Israel may, in the long run, be of great benefit to Israel. Since the Saudis et. al. do not want Iran to have nuke capability, and they know Israel has the chutzpah to do something about it, Israel now becomes much more powerful and important in the Arab world. Netanyahu is the perfect leader to take advantage of this situation.

The stage is set for a “peace in our time” scene as the Pres. may wave the letter publicly in acceptance, evidenced as perhaps announcing proceedings to take “advantage” of sensible offers from Iran to do things Iran’s way while the US can, as a successful result of his foreign policy.
We run the risk of Obama striking while the “poker is hot” to accede to those “sensible” Iranian demands. Demands of all Islamists never cease....there is a 1400 year track record.
Apparently, Ahmadinejad thinks Obama is a legitimate president.
