Who was on the other side of Buffett’s nearly $1 billion in losses? Even a “kickback” of 10% of gains made at his expense would be viewed as a serious chunk of well-needed change for a Democrat party needing a war-chest to stem potential fall losses. Sure, GS got burned, but the administration may have reasoned that was a price worth paying to keep the corrupt regime in Congress in place so that it could continue to look the other way as the administration continues to make decisions that benefit those most willing to “pay to play.”
