Microsoft is pushing a large amount of updates in the past few days. They wakadoodled my vista laptop big time yesterday!
It froze during startup and I had to hard boot it twice to get through it... Dayum! Going to reset my upgrade permission from automatic to ask me first mode...

If anything, I’m glad I’m not alone. We’ll see what happens next time I try to start up...first time after a quick system restore.

System Restore is also available in Vista (and Win7, I believe) from the repair feature available by booting to the install CD.

I always enjoy these computer help threads. I always seem to learn something new, and I've worked with software and PC's (inside and out) for nearly 30 years.
