Trey Grayson has received a very powerful endorsement from Rick Santorum, pro-life former Senator from Pennsylvania. I personally most remember Rick Santorum for his famous exchange with Senator Barbara Boxer regarding the right to life. Please read that here. His endorsement of Trey Grayson is below.
Louisville, Kentucky Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum announced today that he is endorsing Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate. Santorum is in Kentucky to speak at the 40th anniversary dinner for Kentucky Right to Life.
"Trey Grayson is the only 100% pro-life candidate in this race. Ive looked at the records and past statements of both candidates on the issue of protecting life, and Im impressed with Graysons conviction and sincerity, said Santorum.
He continued, And on other issues, too, Trey Grayson has a solidly conservative record. As Secretary of State he has cut his budget by 15%. Thats the kind of fiscal conservatism we need in Washington. Trey has a record, not just rhetoric on fiscal responsibility.
Grayson commented, It means a lot to me that Senator Santorum would endorse my campaign. Im thrilled to have his support. If Im elected I will be a conservative voice for Kentucky whose views match our state and whose principles dont change for the sake of political expediency.
Santorum will appear on the Terry Meiners Show and The Pulse of Lexington with Leland Conway today to discuss Graysons candidacy and his endorsement.
Rand Paul has recently claimed to be pro-life, but in contrast to Trey Grayson, he has a long record of advocating pro-choice positions.
pro-life ping
Trey Grayson is going to lose.
Probably, he has a hard fight.. the third parties have supported Paul, plus all the paultards, plus the codepinkos and MoveOn people all in Paul’s boat.
Well I hope that Paul the kokesh lover doesnt win...Kokesh is bad news...anyone who can see through Kokesh is an idiot...
Paul leads Grayson among pro-lifers by a 50%-32% margin. Grayson leads Paul among pro-abortion Republicans by a 42%-27% margin.
Conservatives favor Paul by 51 percent to 29 percent with 16 percent undecided. Those who attend religious services regularly or occasionally favor Paul by double-digit margins. Gun owners back Paul 48 percent to 22 percent with 22 percent undecided.
Rand Paul leads by double digits among men and women, among conservatives, pro-life voters, gun owners.
Grayson leads today only among the 1 in 5 Republican primary voters who say they are pro-choice.
Rick Santorum is “powerful endorsement”? Who knew?
I mean I like Santorum, but his endorsements don't count for as much these days as it used to when he was a US Senator. Even then, his endorsement in Kentucky can't count more than that of Mitch McConnell’s endorsement, which Trey Grayson has had long ago.
And Palin and Bunning and Steve Forbes and the Louisville Tea Party and Redstate and probably more freepers than not.
It’s a choice between a libertarian and a RINO. I’ll take the libertarian, by a whisker
Paul’s not a libertarian. He’s a stalking horse. Kokesh proves it.
Well, looks like a stalking horse will be elected over a RINO
Two stalking horses. You’re getting Kokesh too.
Welcome to indefinite one-party rule.
Rick Santorum, I remember when he endorsed Arlen Specter.
Does Rand Paul support Kokesh? If true, can you supply a link?
Isn’t this the same guy who not only endorsed, but went to the mat for, the traitorous abortionist arlen spectre over solidly pro-life Pat Toomey? Sorry Rick, but your endorsement counts for nought.
How is Pauls election going in KY going to help Kokesh?
I don’t get the Kokesh obsession. He’s a (nasty little) fringe candidate that won’t get out of his primary.
You don’t see how financial support and the endorsement of a prominent, front-running Senatorial candidate with a famous name helps a young, unknown Congressional candidate?
This is as relevant to Paul's character as questions about Ayers and Wright are to Obama’s.
