White House complains about CBS News blog post saying that possible Supreme Court nominee is gay

“The fact that they’ve chosen to become enablers of people posting lies on their site tells us where the journalistic standards of CBS are in 2010.”

She said the network was giving a platform to a blogger “with a history of plagiarism” who was “applying old stereotypes to single women with successful careers.”

bizarre that the WH flack is referring to the blog post as containing "charges" about Kagan being a lesbian -- since when is the WH or MSM supposed to regard such a thing as akin to a criminal "charge"??

apparently the fuss is about (1) that Kagan may not be "out" of the closet even if widely known in Harvard-land with her partner, and (2) this allows the WH to "out" her (with or without her consent??) as a trial balloon, while (3) setting it all up to blast "conservatives" whether or not Kagan is nominated, and (4) probably the Obamanation is not going to nominate her anyway but this allows him to score points with the "GLBT community" and political affiliates.


Domenech later added an update to the post: "I have to correct my text here to say that Kagan is apparently still closeted -- odd, because her female partner is rather well known in Harvard circles."
