There have been so many articles about the attacks on the Catholic Church that it is impossible to read or post all of them, or even a quarter of them.

This article, while not addressing the details of the subject (who did what when, what was/wasn’t/should/shouldn’t have been done, who was responsible, it’s better now, etc) - gets to the real heart of the matter. Why these attackers hate the Church - because they hate God.

LJ: Why these attackers hate the Church - because they hate God

Spirited: Christendom died long ago, and what emerged out of its’ dead body was a spiritually dead secular state described so very well by Mark Steyn.
W. Europe’s acedia is so extreme that people there for the most part, are like deer helplessly mezmerized by the headlights of the onrushing jihadist-vehicle of doom. In essence, they believe in nothing so they defend nothing.

The point I’m driving at is this: With W. Europeans drowning in apathy and helplessness, just how much of a backlash would result if the Pope was arrested? If it were to be measured by America’s outrage at the blatant evils taking place here, what’s being done to our youth for instance, then it seems reasonable to believe that the criminally insane could pull off the arrest of the Pope with the expectation that what outrage that does occur will quickly drown in W. Europe’s sea of apathy.

Once the most powerful, influential Church has been decapitated, silencing the rest of them will be like shooting ducks in a barrel.
