President Obama and the first lady on Thursday reported earning $5.5 million in 2009, the majority of which was from the sale of Obamas books, the White House said.
By contrast, former President Bush and Laura Bush reported a taxable income of $719,274 in 2007.
The Obamas paid nearly $1.8 million in federal income tax and reported giving $329,100 to 40 charities. Their tax return is here.

Never mind..I found it. Seems kinda stupid to worry about claiming a 12.00 tax payment for anything. LOL!
To be fair, it wasn’t awarded to him until December. He announced where that money was going last month. It’ll be on next year’s tax return.
You have to give them some credit, that's more charitable contributions than your average liberal.
How true..how so very true
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/04/15/gore.taxes/WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, April 15) -- In a 34-page 1997 federal tax return, Vice President Al Gore and wife Tipper reported giving $353 to charity, an amount much lower than donations the family has made in previous tax cycles. That figure is less than one-tenth the typical contribution amount for someone with the Gores' adjusted gross income of $197,729.
That fact has caused some bewilderment in philanthropic circles because of the vice president's "good guy" image as an advocate for public service and social causes, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. "I would assume that he would want to do something to demonstrate that he was being socially responsible through his giving ... " Stacy Palmer, managing editor of the Chronicle of Philanthropy, told the Times. .
Nice work by Ayers to write that book - but WTH is still buying that pap?
Hmmmmm..stimulus dollars at work
ACORN
SIEU
DNP..all come to mind...several hundred crates still stored, unopened, (next to the Jim Wright collection) in some Dem stronghold warehouse...

(very well done video)
LOL!
Exactly! And if he really thinks we need to redistribute wealth, then he and his wealthy liberal friends can voluntarily donate the rest of their income to the Federal government to pay for his redistribution programs.
I forgot about that.
I’d like to see the names of those charities.
“Cant wait until CFO hubby gets home and can look at this return...lol.”
Please let the rest of us know what his analysis is.
Will do. Not sure how much he can tell with no documentation attached...but am sure he will do his best. If anyone has any particular questions or pages you want him to look at, let me know.
The charities are listed on the tax return here:

They are listed towards the end of the return.
Only 450.00 went to churches...go figure..(eye roll)
Isn’t that considered windfall profits?
One would have to attend a church to give to it.
Not neccessarily..but I get your drift.
Eggs-ackley.
Shawn just reported 50% of Bo and Mrs.Bo charity was to “CAIR” and United Negro fund! THEY GAVE TO CAIR!!!!
Page 42 includes a letter stating that the entire Peace Prize Award was transferred directly to a long list of charities.
Well thank you very much...Shawn didn’t clarify that when I was listening...jumped too quick before confirming it...(dah).
