Well, hey. I, for one, didn’t think he was going to cancel it. He just needs to make sure he is near a mosque so he can hear the call to prayer.

Wait...wait...isn’t it considered a great insult to show the soles of your shoes to someone’s face? How come only the guys up in the very front line are the only ones who don’t get insulted every time they pray?
I guess there is probably some kind of codocil that states that offense must not be taken when praying.
What a strange religion!

He didnt cancel it last year, but he didnt observe it, either, OR host it in the White House. Not entirely true. There was no event at the White House, but he did issue a proclamation.
2009 National Day of Prayer Proclamation

There WILL be a national day of prayer. However, there are a few restrictions so as not to offend anyone:
1. Speaking the following words will NOT be allowed:
GOD
JESUS/JESUS CHRIST
HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY GHOST
CHRISTIAN/CHRISTIANITY/JUDAISM references(No JEHOVAH!)
ANY JEWISH/CHRISTIAN MYTHOLOGICAL CHARACTERS
2. Actual Judeo/Christian prayers will NOT be allowed. Hate speech is NOT welcome at this celebration, and neither is bigoted intolerance toward ANY people/culture.
3. Prayers that include references to "Allah", "Buddha", etc. are not only welcome, but encouraged.
4. Prayers that are (certain) religion specific are NOT allowed. Again, intolerant hate speech will be vigorously disallowed.
5. Prayers that refer to world peace, one world order, "feel good" feelings, "Can't we all just get along?" topics are most welcome. The more meaningless and non-specific the prayer, the more likely President Obama will grace you with his presence after the celebration to thank you for your input.
6. Don't forget to "ALL HAIL THE ONE!" at the end of your generic prayers! The office of teh president deserves that much respect, don't you think?

Unfortunately, you are very close to the truth.

That’s what I said. He issued a proclamation. But he cancelled the usual White House prayer breakfast, which had been a long-time tradition.
I said he didn’t “observe” it. Which is to say, he didn’t PRAY on National Prayer Day, anymore than he observes Christmas or Easter. And he has only gone to church on Sunday a few times this past year.
It’s absolutely clear that he’s no Christian. And that he makes no effort even to pretend to be a Christian, the way that Clintbilly did. He just instructs the media to repeat: “Oh, of course he’s a Christian!”

He hasnât cancelled the National Day of Prayer, but he has ordered that all prayers be facing east, and that they take place from the position of kneeling on a rug.

Oh, he'll observe it all right ... of course, in his case, it'll involve facing a mirror, all day every day.

Which is to say, he didnt PRAY on National Prayer Day. You have absolutely no way of knowing that. He didn't pray publicly. That's all you know for sure.
In fact he stated it quite differently. The Washington Times, May 2009
In addition, Clinton held no National Day of Prayer events in the White House. GHWBush and Reagan each only hosted one during their respective administrations.
We have enough problems with the Obama Administration. This isn't one of them.

Well..you MIGHT be right....except for the ISLAMIC DAY OF PRAYER At the Whitehouse in 2009.....see post 20.

0zeromarxo can not cancel it -the boy king is king in mind only and only able to get away with what our wimp check and balance Legislators let him. The National Day of Prayer was enacted by the Legislature.
0zeromarxo chooses not to observee it -that should be expected -he is about as American as Hugo Chavez and as Christian as Osama bin Laden...

Never been to Washington? That’s the Capitol Building, not the White House.
