The radio and TV talk-show host gets such outsize media coverageespecially from the leftfor the same reason he attracts conservative viewers: he validates their beliefs.
Hello, America.
Tonight, a report on how Glenn Beck is planning to replace our democracy with a fascist Mormon regimeand how he's relying on a Saudi Arabian terrorist sympathizer to help him do it.
I know, I know. You haven't read anything about Beck's nefarious plot in the paper. But that's the mainstream mediatoo busy refilling their lattes to bother covering our country's impending collapse. Good thing I have this chalkboard ready so I can diagram it out for you.

At this point, there are two types of people in America: the 10 million people who pay attention to Glenn Beck and the 294 million who try, and fail, to ignore him. Until last week I was one of the latter. I'd never watched his show on Fox News. I'd never listened to him on the radio. I'd certainly never read one of his books. And yet somehow I kept stumbling, via cable news and the blogs, upon footage of Beck calling President Obama a "racist" and/or weeping like a baby. He was like the political version of pollenin the air, inescapable, irritating. Why, I asked myself, are we giving this guy so much attention? How is he different from other right-wing provocateurs like, say, Michael Savage?
Then I realized: to find out, I would have to experience Beck firsthand. I would have to enter the belly of the beast. So last week I decided to submit. Every day for five straight days I would I tune my television to Fox News at 5 p.m. sharp. I would see what I could see.

Everytime Beck says “constitution” I melt just a little bit more.
With his flaws that we periodically outline here he is the only one on TV going after the Obamists hammer and tong, he is the only one going after the roots of the Progressive heresy, he is the only one I’ve heard to talk openly about communism’s 100 million dead, he is the only one to call Obama out as a communist nurtured by communists and sheltered by communists and surrounded by communists, he is the only one I know who was screaming from the rooftops about the economic collapse we are going through... years before it happened, I used to get tired of hearing him go on about it. He is the only one who nails the Obamists to the wall night after night playing their own words right back at them.
Until Beck our spokesmen and women have been confined to radio ghetto. I love Hannity but he is an old softie compared to Beck who hammers away unmercifully. I’m surprised Fox lets him get away with it.
With Beck its the constitution, constitution, constitution. He’s not perfect, I don’t agree with everything that comes out of his mouth, and he still does not dare to look to deeply into O’s citizenship... he chooses his battles and he goes after them like nobody else in TV.
Limbaugh is still the king but Beck is his fire-breathing younger brother and the one the Obamists fear most.
“The Posse” Good one!
They crack me up. ‘Real Christians’ full of hatred no doubt planning via private reply on how to hijack this thread.
Ironic, huh?
i always have... they keep the magic beans warm
as for GB wanting a mormon based government of any sort... that is laughable. i have watched his tv show for a year and listened off and on to the radio show during the same time... the word ‘mormon’ has barely been mentioned (i say barely to take care of that 0.01% possibility... i cannot recall a single mention off the top of my head)
the libs battered MRomney with the mormon tag in order to get the anti-mormon (far right Christians) to react against him. they were successful... and are going to see if they can do it again (hey... can we ask 0bama about his families muslim faith everytime he is in front of a camera... just like Mitt? didn’t think so)
and for full disclosure... i’m about as WASP as you can get. 1st generation US... almost FOB scottish
Looks like you need to re-read the JOD, McConkie (esp the millenial messiah), Pratts and other things
That is just the tip of the iceberg.
I don’t think all that is part of the religion.
A nickels worth of analysis...every time that you want to take Mitt Romney down a notch...you mention the Mormons.
If Tiger Woods was Mormon and they wanted to tear him down a notch....they’d use his religion to tear him rather than his womanizing.
Seems kinda funny that the best a less-than-insightful magazine with no real readership can do today...is to pick Glenn Beck as their favorite topic (the president must have been busy this week)...and this fifth-grader journalism attempt is the best you can do.
Ever noticed today that when you really want to go “nuclear” on someone...you pick their family, their religion, or their friends to dump on? Forty years ago...real journalists picked actual topics to criticize a guy. You took apart his speech or his criticisms.
In this case...we just yell “Mormon”, and that empties out the room? I would suggest Time go back and review its history. They had style and professionalism at one point, and they seem to have lost it.
And a McGeehee.
Back off newbie.
OK, maybe not everyone --mainly old hippies and college kids.
Praying for Glenn Beck to convert back from his cult Mormonism.

Praying in agreement with you.
Why can't you see that he's smarter than you? Are you a racist?

Idiotic how? I never mentioned buying beer or cigarettes.
According to LDS eschatology Christ will reign from Missouri, not Utah. And they will be head of a theocratic communist state. I suggest paying attention to the post before calling me names.
But since you brought it up....
When I lived in Utah most stores were closed on Sunday (as was the Mall and many shopping centers), all clubs were ‘private’ and most liqueur was bought at the State owned liquer store. Somethings are subtle, as boycotting Christian (Evangelical) bookstores and businesses. But that wasn’t what I was talking about at all.
I don’t see it either. Thanks, SV.
Add’l $365 donation to FR. Beck comes out in favor of Romney before the convention. Bookmarked.

Than I am too and glad to be one along also with David Barton who I also admire!
