Tina Fey is quickly becoming a one-trick pony. Despite her prolific and varied portfolio as a film and television actress, screenwriter and producer, it's clear that her favorite role is playing the mean girl.
Over the weekend, she hosted "Saturday Night Live" - and mostly got attention for reprising her role as Sarah Palin in a scathing sketch that managed to mock Palin simultaneously as a self-obsessed reality star, an unsophisticated hick, a fanatical ideologue and a bad mother. Two years after the last presidential campaign, going after Palin again seems more than meanspirited - it's also a little lazy for such a gifted writer and cultural satirist as Fey.
But what was infinitely more interesting than yet another Palin rendition was the endless barrage of swipes Fey took at other women recently in the news, and for all the wrong reasons.
In one sketch, she played one of Tiger Woods' sex-obsessed mistresses. And during the faux news show "Weekend Update," she railed against Michelle (Bombshell) McGee, the alleged mistress of bad boy Jesse James, Sandra Bullock's wayward husband.

A brilliant sketch, one of SNL’s bet ever. Hartman was fantastic - as was Dana Carvey as a doddering Jimmy Stewart.
c) be original and dependent on the person that writes them?
I’m not a comedian, so I don’t know the criteria of a joke, but they can be fiction can’t they?
Actually, she was the chief joke writer for SNL at the time.
The joke fails because what Palin actually said was that Alaska borders Russia, and that you can see Russia from the Western Most part of the state. She was pointing out that Alaska is at all times in a slightly higher state of readiness due to it’s proximity Russia. Never said anything about her house.
Fey had some funny moments as Palin, especially the part when she posed and pretended to cock the shotgun while “Hillary” was talking.
But the portrayal was hardly “iconic”.
Fey loves playing something that she is not.

Sarah's matter of fact honesty, infectious vitality, and decency gives hope to those of us who had given up believing that a peoples candidate could ever truly exist outside of a speechwriters imagination.

Sarah will most likely not be Presidentt someday ..... but she is a gem.
Hartman did a great Clinton too.
Never forget the skit where he as Clinton goes into the fast food joint with the secret service guys while “on a jog”. Starts talking with the people and starts munching on their food. Takes some guys’ burger and starts diagramming how it resembles Somalia warlords.
The best lines were when the secret service guy brought up Mrs. Clinton finding out about him at the fast food place, he says “Ted, there’s gonna be a LOT of things we don’t tell Mrs. Clinton about.”
OK
Tina Fey needs to grow up.
