Pit maverick Republican Congressman Ron Paul against President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 election match-up, and the race is – virtually dead even.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of likely voters finds Obama with 42% support and Paul with 41% of the vote. Eleven percent (11%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

You are ignoring what I’ve said. More money would make it easy for airlines to afford better cockpit doors. More money would make it easy for airlines to afford armed guards on planes. The door alone would have stopped 9/11. That’s an example of my argument.

Money = power.

Stronger economy = better national defense.

Do you really disagree?

Better cockpit doors had been suggested for many years. Hijackings happened all the time. Cmon.

You are ignoring what I have said: We did not see a need to have better cockpit doors prior to 9-11. It was not a lack of wealth.

Well, actually the President (on the occasion we actually have one) has the leeway to take action in response to the attack on an ally without a declaration of war.

Paul’s repeated references to “neocons” and his apparent dislike for the Israelis are troubling. He over-simplifies by implying only those two entities want to bomb Iran.

You are a perfect gem of a Paulbot.

You mindlessly regurgitate his dogmas with no notion at all of the facts without even a shred of reason being allowed to penetrate your comfortable little emotion based political bubble world. Like Dr Paul, you are a completely ignorant, arrogant, child so convinced of the infallibility of your emotion based political dogmas that you spend all your ranting and raving on topics you know clearly know nothing at all about.

When confronted with the facts that explode your comfortable little bubble world dogmas, you reaction is to put your hands over your ears and start screaming your slogans louder rather then bother to learn a single fact.

You conduct on this thread mirrors that of you god Dr Paul, Simple ignore all fact to scream your slogans louder.

That is why your god Dr Paul will never be anything more then a fringe kook Congresscritter from Texas.

US hijackings pretty much ended in the 1970’s when we adapted in airport screenings. Also, hijacking training for air crews called for cooperation with the hijackers. Unfortunately, the training didn’t work in 2001.

It was not lack of money that allowed 9-11, it was the lack of imagination of what evil people would actually do.

The fact of the matter is we will always be dependent upon imported crude oil to some extent if for no other reason it is utterly and absolutely necessary feedstock for production of domestic consumption of aviation fuel.

I hear you, but you almost surely know that the neo-cons and the Israeli’s in general terms would love to see Iran bombed. That’s what they are all about. I’m an anti-neo-con! I think it’s almost all about domestic policy and if we get that right 90% of international issues take care of themselves because we are so strong and so rich that other countries will have a hard time even concieving of how they can successfully take us on.

As far as fighting without a declaration of war . . . yah . . . we have to be able to respond to an attack. The Congress should also vote as well. Formal declaration every time we send troops out to kill people from other countries. Constitution says the Congress declares war.

Wow. Amazing post when you realize it’s directed to a guy that’s barely read anything about Paul or by Paul. Get a life.

A good domestic policy does not prevent Iran or North Korea from nuking their neighbors. However, if we are not concerned about that and only care about getting rich ourselves, then I get your point.

Yes a good domestic policy could stop N. Korea from nuking it’s neighbors. With enough money to fund Star Wars it could stop it completely. Everyone is just used to thinking poor.

By the way, Linda, I really don’t know that much about Paul. If he is a Christian and opposed to abortion that is good for me. I am a Christian and opposed to abortion.

They brought down 4 airliners with box cutters. If I recall correctly, they were prepositioned on the flights - how would high-tech screening have prevented it?

Actually they boarded the plane with them on their person, box cutters were not even banned at the time.

Now of course you're lucky if you can get on a plane with a pen in your pocket.

“Paul was not for the Iraq war. That’s all I know about his foreign policy.”

And you dare to slam us for mentioning facts about his associations?
You admit here that you basically don’t know anything, and you keep repeating “No facts!” like a stinking parrot?
