As of now, 10:15 PM DST, polls are closed for more than three hours in Florida where voters had voted to fill a vacant seat of a long-serving retiring Democrat Congressman in District 14. But apparently, both sides slept deep: as of the current count, less than 14,000 people voted in Broward County, a Democratic strong-hold which is one of the two Counties of the 19Th district. The Democrat has now in total 7,342 votes, vs. 5,837 for the Republican.
We still need to get results from Palm Beach County, and the final results for the night too. I get that. But altogether, it appears to be a VERY low turnout in a district with more than 500,000 registered voters (a lot of them dead
).

Boy I hope the republican wins this.
Very sad comment on GOP leadership, and so called conservatives!
This is an extremely low turnout and they have to do it again in November.
Bad for the rats turnout too, I guess odumbo is really hurting them
Could have “Easley won”?
As in buying elections like Mike Easley(Dem-NC) did?
I see hanging chads.
Those two counties are notoriously Democratic. I wouldn’t be surprised if all the Republicans did turn out, so few they are in number there.
No, Spelling lost.
Low turnout in that district is a bad sign for the Rats.
It doesn't mean the Dem is going to lose, just that even loyal Dems are having trouble getting enthused about their party.
It's very unlikely the R is going to win.
sure - but the Republicans could have picked up a seat with a little grassroots effort!
AP called it for Deutch...
Where the Hell is the GOP Leadership in that area?? What is wrong with this picture. Makes me spitting mad that people are so lame there!!!
BS article.
District is 2 to 1 Democrat.
AP is calling it for the D
....and this is what’s going to happen in November...Dems know how to get their people to the polls...we don’t....we sit around and huff and puff, and fight among ourselves, but in the end we don’t have the numbers....we must wake up on the local level or we are lost.
Maybe they didn’t want to throw too much into it since it’s only a couple of months. Just trying to make excuses I guess but they’ve got a lot of races coming up and most of them a much better chance of winning.
