Kenyan officials affirm: Obama 'son of this soil'

On the floor of the Kenyan National Assembly the day after Barack Obama was elected U.S. president, members of the African country's parliament celebrated "a Kenyan ruling the USA," calling Obama "a son of the soil of this country."
As WND reported, Kenyan MP James Orengo asked the nation's parliament only last month, "How could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become the president of America?"
"Could we allow a Motion for Adjournment so that we could also continue the celebrations of having a Kenyan ruling the USA?" asked the MP for the Ikolomani Constituency, Dr. Boni Khalwale.
The mood on the floor of the Parliament was so raucous that day that an extended debate occurred on whether or not to call the session off to celebrate Obama's election victory.
Nominated MP Millie Odhiambo requested of the chair, "The president-elect, Mr. Obama, is a son of the soil of this country. Every other country in this continent is celebrating the Obama win. It is only proper and fitting that the country which he originates from should show the same excitement, pomp and color. I, therefore, seek leave of the House that we adjourn to discuss the issue."
"Honorable members, as you may be aware, the people of the United States of America have just had a historic election where the son of this soil, Barrack Hussein Obama, has been elected the 44th president of the United States of America and the first African-American president in the history of that country," said Farah, "please join me in registering and sending this House's congratulations to the President-elect Obama for overcoming great odds to emerge victorious."

Oh, they will just say its a figure of speech....like Irish being a son of old Ireland despite being born in the US.
.
The Olde Sod....
What??
It is concrete remarks made by multiple members of the Kenyan parliament recorded in their version of the congressional record.
Do not try to diminish this.

Hon. James Orengo, Minister of Lands
People can make speeches all they want, but what evidence are they based on? That’s all that counts in the end. I hope he knows what he’s talking about. I suspect he doesn’t.
(Page 37, paragraph 4)
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, therefore, as we celebrate this occasion, let us also pay tribute to those who made it possible like our own Tom Mboya who in the Kennedy administration arranged the Great Air Lift that saw so many Kenyans go to the USA and that, in many ways led to this great Kenyan who landed in Hawaii and married an American woman who has today given us the President of the USA. Tom Mboya and John F. Kennedy are people who saw so much hope for this country.

Not that it matters what it says. I also do genealogy and I don't trust the info from Family Search as it is often wrong. Very wrong.
To finish the story...
Obama Sr. came back to Kenya in the Spring/Summer 1961 in a semester off after 2 years of college with his pregnant wife Stanley Ann who had to give birth to Jr. Obama in Kenya because she was too far along with her pregnancy for an airline to put her on a departure flight.
I heard an interview with the Kenyan Ambassador to the US make the same claim and then backtrack because he made an “ooops!”. But Kenyan Gov officials stating Bam is Kenyan is just talk, right? They don’t have first hand info, right? /s
Yes right. /s
;-)
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, indeed, history is in the making. I know that we can all try to relate to President Obama in various ways. This morning I was listening to the BBC and I heard the Southern Sudanese claim that President Obama is Sudannese. Just sitting here next to my learned friend, Mr. James Orengo, he is saying that even the Irish are claiming parentage of President-elect Barack Obama. Everybody is claiming a piece of Barack Obama. Be that as it may, what does it actually mean for the world today?
My point is a simple one...
Transcripts from the Kenyan Parliament are not really evidence of anything..they are the opinions of politicians...opinions I value less than the ones on FR.
:-)
Lets rewind the clock a few years back. Not everyone was claiming parentage of Obama as was the case with Kenya.
My point is a simple one...
Here is another simple point.
For only $12 dollars, Obama could release his long form birth certificate to the public and have Hawaii vouch for its authenticity.
It is a simple point.
An honest president would be **HONORED** to promptly prove with all of the very best evidence that he was a natural born citizen and eligible to be Commander in Chief of our brave troops.
So?...Why doesn't he?
If he is orchestrating some type of future “gotcha” to make his opponents look foolish, I doubt the American people will be amused.
To play this political dirty trick on his opponents Obama used Department of Justice attorneys to block the release of common documents that ordinary citizens in the U.S. must provide routinely. He has MISUSED Department of Justice Attorneys and kept them from their important job of KEEPING AMERICA SAFE from the bad guys.
Obama misused Department of Justice resources at a time when terrorists were plotting to kill our brave soldiers on their bases and recruitment centers, and blow airplanes full of innocents out of the sky.
I don't think Americans will find that funny.
I have always had pretty good luck with it. Its is about 98% correct from what I have done on there.
The site seems to be overloaded.
The ones I have had problems with are places like geneaology.com etc. Lots of these places often seem to rely on info from others who often place information that isnt accurate.
