We get what we're entitled to. I don't put in anything because I don't pay taxes, but if I could work I would.'

It’s telling that the UK publications always present a large, real family (with father) of northern European descent with these welfare stories. As in the propaganda here, in the USA, they don’t show single welfare queens and third-worlders. Hopefully, the default will come soon, and quite a few million more will learn needed lessons.
Agreed on a return of the commodities programs. ...need to lop off most of the government jobs, too—social programs that do more harm than good.

It’s been a long time since I added up the monetary benefits of welfare. Back in about 1987 we were living in an apartment complex that had gone Section 8. A neighbor was complaining to us about how poor she was. I broke out my calculator. I added up her Aid to Dependant Children, rent subsidy (very sizable), food stamps and free food, Medicaid and a couple other things I can’t remember. I omitted all the help she was getting from churches and other charities she collected because of being on welfare.
She had more income than the construction workers I knew. It didn’t do any good, she still believed she was “poor” because she only received a few hundred dollars a month cash - and she was on welfare so she had to be poor.
Many welfare programs count pregnancies as born dependents for calculating welfare benefits. With formerly expensive, now free fertility treatments an aspiring welfare queen could book 8 dependents in one shot, then later abort them if she changes her mind.
They would abort and not blink an eye.
We will fight you from our welfare offices, from our subsidized houses, from our free clinics. I cannot offer you anything but free cheese, fish and chips.

Interesting how these people actually have kids—unlike a lot of other British who go childless. My logical side disapproves of these people. On the other hand, for Western civilization to continue it needs people who actually reproduce. If the Davey’s family is being paid for by a lot of single people who will never have kids, maybe it all work out.

They are single women with a whole bunch of kids. They get so much per kid and they have multiple fathers who are not living with them............................................... LOL, They’re employed!! They’re Entrepreneurs!!!
That reminded me of the best laugh-at-the-media moment I ever experienced.
I was living in Southern California after the Rodney King Riots. The rioters burned down their own post office in Watts. When the first of the month rolled around, the Los Angeles Times reported on the latest "crisis" facing the community:
With the Post Office gone, residents don't know where to go to pick up their paychecks.No kidding. Every article that covered this "crisis" referred to it as their "paycheck". Sick liberals.
I remember. They burned everything to the ground and then complained about it. These are sick people. Around here you can go to the Dog Track around the 3rd of any month and there they will be.
