I think I read recently that St Vincent's is the only Catholic hospital in NYC (or Manhattan...can't recall which).

SEIU rules the roost there.....SEIU is a vampire that usually preys on gov’t workers. These hospital workers are private sector so are out on der butts

I spent one of the most miserable nights of my life in St. Vincent's. I'd caught the mother of all stomach viruses and had heaved at least a hundred times. Paramedics took me from a hotel room and then to St. Vincent's, where they promptly wheeled me into a freezing room full of other sick people and left me for hours. Some eight hours later, they informed me that I had a stomach virus and discharged me. I had been so severely dehydrated that I literally could not stand, and they didn't so much as give me IV fluids. Fine care.

Well now we cannot assume they ALL are seiu members, or voted for Obama. This will be happening all over, hubby is a top notch electrician and works in one here, and they are awaiting yet another layoff. Would be a nice kick in the butt after 35 years!

BINGO! ANY community hospital that is not unionized is at risk for closure.

The Catholics ought to CLOSE EVERYTHING THEY OWN in nyc and get the hell out. (...or is it get out of the hell?)
And say "New York Times", if asked why.

Inner city hospitals are infamous for that sort of thing.

SEIU also targets hospital workers, even those that aren’t government employees.
Several years ago,I read they got a new labor ruling to make it easier for them to infiltrate medical facilities, it had something to do with subdividing the work force so they didn’t have to have an organizing drive with all the employees.
Of course, government employees in the hospitals or elsewhere, aren’t subject to NLRB rules but different state regulations.

NYC is a bad place to find yourself unemployed. This reconfirms what we have been saying all along, the Democratic business model for America doesn’t work. This is not George Bush’s fault. This is a democratic city in a democratic state whose former senator is now the democratic Sec. of state appointed by a democratic President with the consent of a democratic majority congress. If Ronald Reagan were running things, this hospital would still be in business and these people would still have jobs. But we have Barack Obama in charge instead. We told you so Democrats.

NYC public school teachers are next to get a taste of Obama’s hopey-changey. 8,500 are going to get the boot at the end of the school year. The Porkulus dollars are gone and now it’s reckoning time.

Think of it as an indirect way to the death panels. No more hospital? Sorry, you just have to die now and allow another illegal alien to take your place in this life.
