“The unashamed desire to torture someone reveals a depraved heart. This is not God’s will. We pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. In us as it is in heaven.”

I gave up on being holy when I discovered that the bad guys always win. I’ll give God two years, then it’s my turn.

You are no doubt sad, discouraged, angry, outraged, near despair. I am bowed down the weight of those feelings, too. The church, the politicians, the overall culture, seem full of betrayal: sickening.

I feel I must go to the foot of the Cross and consider Christ, who "came unto His own, and His own received Him not." That means the human race, made in the image and likeness of God, and yet thy rejected Him. He was rejected even by his select men, the Apostles, who denied and abandoned Him, almost every one of them.

Or I should say, almost every one of us.
