(CNSNews.com) Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says President Obama expects all cabinet departments to leverage their resources in support of public health, a move she suggested is unprecedented.
One of the things thats happened in this administration, which I would suggest has not really happened in the past, is that the president has made it very clear to all of us at the cabinet level that while health may be directly in the portfolio of Health and Human Services, he expects all of the cabinet officers to spend some time figuring out ways that we can leverage their assets and work on this issue, said Sebelius in an April 8 speech on Capitol Hill.

What were they doing before?
Building and and maintaining highways and providing for air transportation. But that was in the age of of greed, when our government was under the impression that prosperity was a good thing. Now, that emissions limits will be keeping cars and trucks off the highways, the DOT, instead of cutting spending, have been given permissoin to misappropriate (er, I mean “leverage”) taxpayer money (er, “assets”) to provide pork barrel (er, “health care”) funding.

Talk about nanny statism. Some of these departments would be absolutely ludicrous to try to address public health from their perspective.
Yep, read the book, The Tyranny of Health. Our obsession with “good health” is going to give the government what it needs to control our lives, and most of us will go willingly.

There was a stunning quote from Reason magazine quoting one of the luminaries of the Health Nazis, rather explicit in their advocacy and goals.
Wish I’d saved it....but, then again, why bother, why read about it when every time you turn around there’s some nosy parker busybody putting that rhetoric into reality, all without a peep it seems (apart from here), but rather accolades.
