That is my thinking exactly. However I realize, we will never acheive purity (or complete agreement with any one individual) and this was a public gaffe which did show weakness. As long as his votes do not start reflecting this attitude then it was nothing more than a verbal screw up. But he injected doubt regarding the ability to hold the line. I had the same reaction about Palin endorsing McCain; however, she is going the distance and proving that she is rock solid. I still question that decision, but since then she has been brilliant on the public stage imo.
We will have to wait and see on future issues with Coburn.

I agree. And in the “art” of politics, sometimes diplomacy and even duplicity have to be employed; but the should not be the main tactic or method.

I realize that DC is a festering swamp of crime - bribery, blackmail, payoffs, you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours - but it doesn’t have to be that way. And the sooner it STOPS being that way, the better. It has to stop, or our country will soon be in the dustbin of history.

Moral principles and moral courage are needed infinitely more than suave social skills.
