No plans to deploy weapons in space: Russia

day after Russia and the United States signed a new START treaty; the commander of Russia's space forces said Russia has no plans to deploy weapons of any kind in space.

According to Russian news agency Ria Novosti, some analysts have suggested that Russia could deploy space weapons as part of measures to counter controversial U.S. plans to build missile shields in Europe.

"We have no such plans," Maj. Gen. Oleg Ostapenko told a news conference in Moscow. Signing of the new treaty would not affect the activities and plans of the Russian Space Forces, he added.

"The plans and tasks set by the commander-in-chief, the president, have not changed and are being developed at a determined pace," Ostapenko was quoted as saying.

He added that changes would only be made if "breakthrough technologies emerge that affect the plans and budgets."

United States and the Soviet Union have developed several orbital weapons systems during the Cold War but it was largely halted after the 1967 Outer Space Treaty and the 1979 SALT II Treaty came into force.

They have weapons in space, so do we, and so do several other major countries.

Have had for 30 years.

We know they do, they know we do.

The real problem is that some of our other ‘enemies’ are now starting to put them up there.

I do not know that we have weapons in space, but the Russians have been testing them at their Sary Shagan base for at least 30 years. The Chinese have been actively testing them.

All I can tell you is that back in the eighties I was a quality inspector at a company that was building satellites the size of a bus. These satellites had a platform mounted on one end with elevation and azimuth encoders. These encoders were accurate to within one nanosecond of a degree. I did not have a clearance and I was never told what they were for. But that would be one heck of a platform for a laser.

Not sure if anyone is listening to the Coast to Coast “somewhere in time” rerun, but Art Bell interviews a guest Philip Hoag who is warning about our compromised military preparedness, and peacenick politicians making us ripe for attack, and Art seems to be giving him little credibility, and questioning all the guest's claims with a great deal of skepticism. The interview took place three months before 9/11 and shows how insightful the guest was, and how in complacent and in denial Art was.

Just like our own home-grown lefty tyrants, when they say they will NOT do something you can be assured that is exactly what they plan to do.

With rocket tipped nukes and using space stations to direct war games in the SOviet Union, to this day Russia continues a policy of weaponization of space and quest for super weapons.

MEantime, in the name of not hating them, we are turning the communist f2gs into full blown Nazi f2gs by giving them the morale support to nuke us through a showmanship of excuses for our weakness and weak pre-holocaustic response. Weakness is bad economy and they will cart us away as a disposable to satisfy they inferiority complex as f2gs.

Our lefty tyrants are supporters of foreign terror, being the domestic pink facilitator thereof, hiring IRS agents to go after our motivated healthy people through domestic care and ignoring the threats from abroad like cowards. Dividing us from ourselves is what they do best. Now that Interpole has free access here, foreign Nazis and Chinese cops can run this AMerica turning into a huge Warsaw style ghetto experiment at the cultural and legal level.

Watch weak liberal judges hating foreign non-illegal motivated people and T-party people. Do not trust any RINO who are no better than the LBJs who took credit after getting JFKs murdered.

I do know. I watched them test it. The scientist who designed it defected to the United States and helped us build one which we quickly launched into orbit.
