Well the story in your link can’t be the same story that the Sun is talking about. Hitting the bottom isn’t the same as colliding with another ship. Also the picture in the Sun article and story shows damage to the sail not the bow or keel.

Yes, two different incidents.
Grounding in Sardinia in 2003; collision in the Strait of Hormuz in 2009.
Different skippers, of course.

This “incident” happened in October of 2003 when the ship ran aground causing 9 million dollars worth of damage were done to the submarine, and it was out of service for seven months..
