No doubt, and many of us said so from the beginning. Appointing Steele as the party chairman was a knee-jerk response by the Republican "leadership" after Obama's election so the party could say "look, we have black leader too! We're not racist!"
The fact is, it was a no-win situation from the beginning. Steele wasn't qualified then, he's not qualified now, and should the Republican party fire him know, it'll set off a maelstrom of "racism" cries in the lamestream media. If they don't fire him now, he becomes a distraction for the mid-term elections and God only knows what other sound bites he'll give the Democrat party and Obama.
IMO, best to fire him now so this all has time to blow over before the mid-term elections, or the Republican Party will suffer the consequences at the ballot box in November. Steele is too big of a distraction at this point to let him have the reigns of power any longer.
They’d be insane to keep him on. Let him make speeches on street corners with a bullhorn.
