Time is quickly running out for you and I to kick in the closed door and clear the smoke out of the back room.

You see, on Tuesday, May 18th there will be a Special Election to fill the vacant PA-12 Congressional seat once held by the late Democrat John Murtha.

It’s a seat we need to take back the House.

But there’s a problem, Patricia A. Republicans are about to lose their SIXTH STRAIGHT special election since Barack Obama took office.

You see, in recent weeks conservatives just like you from all over America demanded the Pennsylvania Republican Party do the right thing and select William Russell to be the Republican nominee.

Petitions were rushed to Chairman Rob Gleason explaining...

** William Russell only campaigned against John Murtha for 95 days during the previous election cycle due to Active Duty military requirements, and yet managed to garner more votes than any Republican candidate since John Murtha’s first re-election in 1974,

** William Russell already has a grassroots campaign with hundreds of volunteers in place,

** William Russell has already earned the support of over forty three thousand grassroots donors from both inside and outside of Pennsylvania,

** William Russell is a proven leader who has served in the U.S. Army for 28 years of Active and Reserve service, including six tours in hostile fire zones, and,

** A recent Zogby poll gave William Russell a 29 point lead over the closest Republican in the primary.

But, Pat, the elite hacks who run the PA Republican Party told William Russell and conservative activists essentially –- GET LOST!

A March 23 Washington Times article reported Gleason admitted “he doesn’t care about winning the congressional seat when he chastised Mr. Russell for running too hard in 2008. Mr. Gleason whined, I lost a state legislature race in 2008 because Russell was surging in the polls and Murtha turned out his forces to come out for the Democrats.”

This sort of corrupt, backroom dealing by arrogant party elites is exactly what has weakened the Republican Party in recent years.

Well, Freedom’s Defense Fund won’t let that happen again.

They’re running hard-hitting TV ads in Pennsylvania that have Republicans calling Gleason and demanding the Party listen to them and nominate Russell.

The pressure is building, but we’re not there yet — and time is about to run out.

I had hoped the Republican Party had learned its lesson and would stop giving itself self-inflicted wounds. Tragically, it’s happening again right here in this race to succeed John Murtha.

On Tuesday, May 18th there will be both a Special Election and a Republican Primary. The party hacks may have succeeded in keeping William Russell off the Special Election ballot...

...But they couldn’t keep this American patriot’s name off the Republican primary ballot.
