Stupak understands now what the polling revealed: a vote for that bill was a vote against the will of his constituents. Yet he chose to do it and now he is suffering the consequences.

What does Stupak suffer? Is he not permitted to move far away and start anew with a fat pension and retirement that atarts immediately? Has he traded his membership in Congress for perks not yet revealed?

Just as John McCain said in an interview with Chris Wallace during the 2008 campaign when asked how what he would do if he lost, McCain responded in effect "My life is so blessed...I'll be fine, my family will be fine, either way I will be happy"

Doesn't that statement reveal what is going on?

The pols in Washington are bought and paid for. Our votes do not matter on so many levels. Our votes cannot compete against the graft and payoffs of that world. We can change the person but we can't change the culture there....unless

....unless we get ourselves informed. If as scientists we can observe and identify clearly what it is that 'finances' the corruption, then we can discuss how to 'treat' the disease of this corruption. It is treatable but millions of us have to come to an understanding and agreement on what the causes of the disease are, and what is the best treatment.

I have my conclusions.

But the disease of pols and their culture of corruption spreads because we are kept uninformed, disrupted, distracted and in a state of disarray and disunity. Except now maybe we have a fledgling unity under the Tea Party banner. We can be certain that the pol powers will try to dissolve this unity no matter what the cost.

Ah, but there is one thing such craven people cannot stand -- RIDICULE! We are too polite and deferential to people who are unworthy of either. Traitors like Stupak should be met with ridicule and scorn in every public place, and should not be welcomed in polite society. His face should be his shame, and his life a living hell.
